From Wednesday 24th to Saturday 27th September, almost three dozen students from three Czech and Slovak art schools will participate in an art-educational conference for young creators full of sharing, inspiration and movement.
During these four days, students selected by their home institution will try out creating a performative project with professionals from the production group PocketART , which will culminate in a public presentation of the site-specific performative project Jáma lvová UNLIMITED . They will present their own work during the composed evening Fresh dance , which for the third year now gives space to student choreographies, and the Pitch session , during which students will present their projects or artistic intentions in a short and focused presentation, after which they will receive valuable feedback from experts in the field.
The invitation to this expert "jury" was accepted by Markéta Hrdlička Málková from the REZI.DANCE Komařice, Jaan Ulst from Tartu 2024 and Lucia Kašiarová from Prague's Studio ALTA and Študia Tanca Banská Bystrica. With these guests, a rich conference program with lectures and discussions directed by Vize tance is also prepared for the students on Friday afternoon.
The entire symposium takes place during the 12th year of the international festival of contemporary dance, new circus and physical theatre MOVE Fest Ostrava , so an integral part of the program for participating students will also be the opportunity to see all the festival performances, including the legendary production of Jo Stømgren Kompani A Dance Tribute to The Art of Football or the Ostrava premiere of the co-production project MOVE Ostrava and FysioART Wild Geese (Divoké husy).
The symposium will be attended by students from the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava, the Duncan Centre Conservatory in Prague and the J. L. Bellu Conservatory in Banská Bystrica. The symposium is organized by MOVE Ostrava and Vize tance in cooperation with the University of Ostrava and the Janáček Conservatory.
